This Saturday, at Kigali Marriot Hotel FERWAFA held an extra ordinary General Assembly to discuss key issues concerning future of football in the country as well as the ambitious plan of the federation to establish of its own radio and Television.
During the assembly, FERWAFA’s Secretary General KALISA Adolphe emphasized the need for a dedicated media platform to provide credible information and updates.
In the 2025 annual budget that was also confirmed by the members includes one hundred millions Rwandan francs to establish an in-house media which will be radio and television.
The football governing body didn’t confirm the actual date for media house opening but not later than this year. The initiative is expected to improve communication with fans, journalists, stakeholders, and clubs by offering reliable information.
The establishment of FERWAFA’s own radio and television stations marks a significant step forward toward improving communication, avoiding rumors and misinterpretation in Rwandan football.
With misinformation often influencing public perception, the federation aims to take control of its narrative and provide fans with reliable updates. As FERWAFA continues to explore financial paths to support this project, its wider strategy of self-sustainability remains key to strengthening Rwandan football both on and off the pitch.
